Rigs of Rods is an open source vehicle simulator licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3. What makes Rigs of Rods different to most simulators is its unique soft-body physics: vehicles, machines, objects, etc. are simulated in real-time as flexible soft-body objects (so they can deform), giving the simulation an extremely accurate behavior which entirely depends on the physical construction of the vehicles or objects you create. Thanks to the game powerful, realistic and versatile physics, there are a lot of things that can be accurately simulated in Rigs of Rods. You can drive race cars, cranes, monster trucks, 4 wheel drive cars, rock-crawlers, boats, planes and many more! The game has been built as a sandbox. Therefore, it gives the player a total freedom, in terms of playing of course, but also in terms of vehicles modifications. A large and active community is supporting the game and the rigs of rods repository (where content can be downloaded) is regularly fed with new high quality vehicles and environments from talented 3D artists.
